Edel Brennan
Operations Manager – Response Engineering

Edel joined the Response Group in 2001 and is Operations Manager with Response . Edel is responsible for the management of all O&M contracts and reports directly to the Operations Director. She supervises and co-ordinates the activities of all environmental and laboratory staff and all plant operatives.

Edel is an environmental scientist with significant experience in process proving and commissioning of major and medium sized water and wastewater treatment plants. She successfully implements Performance Management Systems for a wide range of treatment plants and liaises directly with clients on operation, maintenance and financial issues. Edel recently presented a paper on Balleally Leachate Treatment Plant to the Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management.

Neil Ronan
Operations Manager & Contract Finance

Neil joined Response Engineering in 2007 as with responsibility for revenue (settling final accounts) and for managing retentions. Since then he has moved to head up the Contract Finance Department and has recently assumed the position of interim manager of the Operations Division of Response Engineering.

Neil is a successful Project Manager who has worked on many high profile projects such as Cork International Airport and the County Hall redevelopment in Cork prior to joining Response.

Ailish Johnston
Process Engineer

Ailish joined Response in 2005 as Process Engineer and Laboratory Technician. Her responsibilities include commissioning and process proving of new wastewater treatment plants. Ailish’s management duties include plant monitoring and regular reporting to both clients and Response management. She supervises and provides technical support to plant operatives.

Ailish is an experienced environmental engineer with an extensive plant management background. She has a diploma in health and safety management and provides regulatory compliance advice on all sites which she looks after.

John Nolan
Plant Manager / Environmental Engineer

John joined Response Engineering in 2007 as an Environmental Engineer and Plant Manager. His responsibilities include all aspects of commissioning and operation of water and wastewater treatment plants. John is involved in the installation, operation and process optimisation of a wide range of water services plants throughout Ireland for municipal and industrial clients.

John is an experienced environmental engineer with extensive water industry experience. He has worked as an environmental engineer in the food industry with sole responsibility for monitoring compliance with EPA IPC licence requirements. He has implemented water usage reduction programmes, waste reduction and recycling and conducted regular energy audits.

Maria O’ Regan
Plant Manager / Environmental Engineer

Maria joined Response Engineering as a laboratory technician at Shannon Town WWTP in 2006. She subsequently became plant manager for three wastewater treatment plants in the midlands region. Maria has been involved in plant start-up and process proving for water, wastewater and leachate treatment plants. She manages works health and safety requirements and is responsible for all client liaison and regular reporting for the plants in which she manages.

Maria is an experienced environmental engineer with extensive water industry experience in both the municipal and industrial sectors. She has successfully monitored EPA IPC licence requirements for industry and is familiar with process and hazard risk assessment.
